Hi there! Welcome! So glad you stopped by. I love to cook and share my food and knowledge with my family and friends.
I am learning about blogging so it will be interesting and a lot of fun!
I will share ideas and recipes and invite some of my awesome friends who love to cook to be guest chefs.
My cookbook is available on this site and I thank you in advance for your support! Reviews, questions, and suggestions are always welcome.
I am working on Thanksgiving ideas now and will be sharing some of my favorite recipes. For now, the recipe below is one of my newest favorites. Enjoy!
Ingredients
- 1 package Italian sausage – mild or sweet – about 5 links
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 1 ½ lbs Brussels sprouts, rinsed, end cut off and cut into rounds
- 4 tbsp Calabrian Peppers
- 1 whole shallot (both sections) peeled and minced
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt and pepper
- Juice of 1 lemon –
- ¼ cup broth, can be substituted for white wine
Process:
Heat a large skillet and cook the sausages. Set aside on a plate and let them cool for about 10 minutes- enough so you can slice them.
In the same skillet add the olive oil, the shallots, and the garlic- cook for about 2 minutes. Add the Calabrian paste and stir. Add the wine or broth and deglaze the pan. Add the sausages and Brussels sprouts and mix all together. Add the salt and pepper and cover for about 10 minutes. Stir and cover for another 10 minutes- sprouts should be firm but cooked. Serve and sprinkle with a little lemon juice.
I love it as is but it can be served on a bed of noodles, polenta, rice, etc.
Enjoy!
See you soon and please post comments and reviews once you try the recipe.
